Meet The Doctor

J. Gordon Burch, MD

Dr. Burch is a Canadian by birth in Edmonton, Alberta where he grew up. He received a BA in Classics in 1963 from the University of Alberta and graduated with an MD from the same school. He completed an internship and year of training in Internal Medicine in Toronto before moving to the US. He completed his neurology residency training at Duke University Medical Center, and then served as Chief of Neuro Service at Durham, VAH and assistant professor of neuro and peds neuro at Duke. From 1977-79 Dr. Burch was Vice Chair of Neurology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and director of the residency training program there. Board Certified in Neurology since 1974 and Fellow of Royal College of Medicine & Surgery (Canada) since 1973.  Dr. Burch and his wife Carolyn have 4 children and eleven grandchildren. His love outside of medical practice and family is horsemanship and trail riding.
